Rock girl illustration

Friday, March 27th, 2009

I’ve been dealing with a bunch of people in the muisc industry lately. Either people in bands, band management, radio personalities and so on. I became inspired to do something a little different for me the other day. I wanted to draw a piece in the “feel” of the old a vinyl album covers we used to see back in the 70’s and early 80’s. (Rocker Girl meets Diary of a Mad Man) To me, nothing says rock-n-roll like a hot girl, a guitar, some black leather pants and a dungeon. Very Ozzy/ Hair Band…. This piece has all of the above and more. I am posting the entire piece, and 2 close ups so you can see the different details clearer.

What’s going on here…. Well. I’ve designed trade show graphics for every kind of business from a roofing company to a health care company. I’ve recieved a couple of emails from one of the biggest rock stars in the world… no names yet, but I hope it pans into something cool. I received an email from a lady in croatia that is going to get one of my illustrations made into a tattoo for her and her husband. (COOL!)…  There’s more to tell, but I’ll save it for later. I went to lunch with Steve Black (chop shop guitar show, syndicated accoss the country)  Had a nice conversation about the show, music, art, business….etc.

Here is my new rock girl.

Hello-

I haven’t posted in awhile so I thought I would give a sneak look at a piece I am working on. This is a self promo piece I am considering putting in an illustration publication that will come out next year. This isn’t the entire illustration and ….It’s not what you think it is, from the portion posted above. I’ll post the rest as soon as I can.

What have I been up to… Well, I’ve started four trade show booth projects, one will officially kick off this week. I finished illustrating a book for a new author last week. I’ve been speaking to some really cool people in the music industry about illustrating a promotional piece for an internationally touring rock band..

I’m going to be creating a piece or two for a charity called National Doodle Day. My art will be auctioned off along with the art of some major celebrities. I’ll post details here as soon as I can.
