Phil Lynott

I just drew this caricature of Phil Lynott today. Memorial day…. Why in the world would I pick today to draw Phil? Well, the truth is I was just talking to an old friend of mine about the importance of music, or at least how important music used to be. Phil, Thin Lizzy wrote or brought us many important songs that where the sound track to our youth. On this day, I think of the anthem “The Boys are Back in Town.” This illustration was inspired today because of the way it made me feel when I’d come back home on leave after being away for a year or more in the marine corps.  I just wanted to see my friends, cut lose and have fun and not think about the grind of the service. This song has  helped me do that in a big way. I hope the caricature reminds you of those times and a great song!
