True Grit, Fill Your hands

We live in a time of amazing movie technology and special effects. We can create the impossible with a computer and have movie goers on the edge of their seats with astounding imagery. For me, if I’m spending a Sunday afternoon watching a movie, nothing beats a good western. One of my favorite westerns is True Grit, and one of my favorite scenes in that movie is the showdown between Rooster and Ned Peppers gang. The guts it takes to face a hail of bullets, teeth bitting down on the rains, pistols blazing in absolute furry and GRIT….has to go down as the ultimate demonstration of guts.

It’s been well over a year since I’ve been able spend over one hour to draw something just for myself. This illustration was done over that last few weeks spending an hour here and there as I could between work projects.
